We created our YWAM Hollywood Media Resource Center to provide content that you, and your ministry, can use to further the Kingdom of God. Most of the resources are free!

Today I helped my Mom send a birthday card to her best friend. They have been best friends for over 50 years. They met at church. Both of their husbands worked for oil companies, and they both had young children at home that were about the same ages. They had their faith, family, and occupations in common. It made for a lifetime bond.

The more you have in common with someone, the easier it is to become friends, and also to remain friends for years. That is especially true when you have your faith in common. When you are friends with someone who shares the same spiritual beliefs as you do, you have a solid foundation for a friendship. For not only a lifetime, but for eternity!

Jesus calls us friends! And God is the best friend you can ever have! Like the old hymn says, “What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry, Everything to God in prayer!”

I am blessed to have a wonderful Mom. Next week my Mom turns 96! 96 – WOW! For her first few years of school she attended a one room school house. She rode in a horse drawn buggy pulled by “Old Dolly” when she went to school. They didn’t have electricity to their farmhouse and her Mom cooked their meals on a wood stove. Their refrigerator was literally an ice box.

She has seen lots of changes in her life.

But one thing that never changes, is the goodness of God, and the calling that He has placed on your life!

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call]. Romans 11:29 Amplified Bible

When a celebrity dies we notice. We didn’t notice that the other one million died… Unless one of them was a relative or friend.

A celebrity has died too young and we notice. And we do need to notice. Because, when the world stops and notices that someone died a tragic death, it gives us each an opportunity to pause to reflect on our choices, and to remind ourselves what is really important in life, and in death.

And what is really important in life, and in death? Time with those you love.

Time with God.

Time with family and friends that you love.

It is all about love.
