The blog below is one we suggested for the monthly prayer invitation for YWAM. It was selected as the global prayer invitation for September 2026. We are excited to have our YWAM worldwide family praying for Hollywood, Content Creators, and for The Passion of the Christ, and the Resurrection of the Christ movies.

Thank you for joining us this month as we take up “The Invitation” and join together with thousands of YWAMers from around the world as we pray and hear from God. This month we will be praying for Hollywood Content Creators. Published on: September 6, 2026

In Hollywood and other places where movies are made, content creators face temptations and opportunities that have far-reaching consequences. David Cunningham, son of YWAM’s founders Loren and Darlene Cunningham, and a director of movies for Fox, Disney, and ABC, says, “I’m called to be a filmmaker, and what does that look like now, today? You find yourself on your knees a lot, asking, trusting.”

Pray!

Please take a moment now to pray for people involved in the entertainment and media industry around the world. Please also pray with us on September 10, the prayer day for the YWAM prayer initiative called The Invitation.

1.    Pray for content creators to share truth and a godly biblical worldview. Pray that the enemy will be defeated in all areas of content creation.
2.    Pray for the salvation of the unsaved that are currently creating content, and pray for revival in the entertainment industry.
3.    Pray for YWAM ministries like YWAM Hollywood that seek to bring godly values into the media and entertainment world.
4.    Pray for The Resurrection of the Christ part one and part two. The first part is scheduled to be released in May 2027. This is the sequel to Mel Gibson’s successful and controversial movie, The Passion of the Christ, which is being re-released to theaters starting Sept 10-17 of 2026. Pray for wisdom and discernment for all the people working on the final editing and special effects of The Resurrection of the Christ, that the true story of Jesus will be told. Pray for strategies for the body of Christ to be able to use these movies to disciple the nations.

Hope for Hollywood

Hollywood…

Known to all worldwide as a place that creates movies. The place that shares the stories of our day, and creates the narrative of our generation. But, how much of what is created shares our biblical world view? Unfortunately, not much.

In my book, “Hope for Hollywood: Reclaiming the Soul of Film and TV,” I share the lies that are often found in the content that is created for film and TV, and prayer strategies, and content creation strategies, to tell the truth instead of the lies.

In YWAM, we understand that Christians are called to disciple the nations no matter what our profession. We are all familiar with the strategy that the Lord showed our YWAM Co-Founder, Loren Cunningham, regarding the Seven Spheres of Influence strategy over 50 years ago. In 1975, Loren began to develop strategies with a mandate to bring Godly change to a nation by reaching its seven spheres of societal influence. He concluded that in order to truly transform any nation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, these seven facets of society must be reached. Part of that strategy, for YWAM, was to organize The University of the Nations into College Departments that would each focus on one of the Seven Spheres.

We believe that each of us has a calling on our lives from God to have our occupations on at least one of the Seven Spheres. For some, it will be an occupation on the church/religious Sphere. For many of us, we will be living our Christian lives while performing our occupation on one of the other Spheres – including the Spheres of Arts /entertainment, or Media/Communications.

We also believe that by strategically praying in these areas, we, as Christians, can bring about widespread societal transformation. Through our prayers, we can see God’s will manifest in these influential areas of society. We believe that our prayers can shape our culture and bring revival and the societal change that God desires.

We encourage you to pray each day for Hollywood, and the content creators that are Discipling the Nations!

Today is the day.

Tickets for the USA theatrical re-release of The Passion of the Christ will be available for the USA shows at participating theatre box offices and online today, July 24, 2026. The Passion of the Christ movie will be showing in theatres this September 10 – 17, 2026.

I don’t know about you, but, I still can’t quite grasp that it has been over 20 years since The Passion of the Christ ” movie was released in the theatres. And, now, we are so excited that you, along with a whole new generation, will have the opportunity to see it again on the big screen!

More exciting news today. It was just announced that “The Passion of the Christ ” movie is being re-released to USA theatres this September (Sept. 10 -17, 2026, with international dates still be to announced) and will include an exclusive behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the new movie, “The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One.” (Opening in Theatres May 6, 2027.)

It’s hard to believe it has been 20 years since The Passion of the Christ ” movie was released in the theatres. And, now, you, along with a whole new generation, will have the opportunity to see it on the big screen!

Why all the squawking and shrieking?

Today, while Mom and I were sitting on the porch the blue jays in the trees in our backyard started squawking – or more like shrieking – like a sound I’d never heard before.
Skeee-walk… skeee-walk…

shreeeeak… shreeeeak…

jayer… jayer…

And it went on & on & on…
And the longer it lasted, it seemed like more birds were joining in!

I was starting to get irritated. I thought to myself, “Why won’t they be quiet?” I was getting so annoyed I was thinking I should go shoo them away somehow. But they were up in the tree too high. Surely there had to be a way to get them to be quiet…

Opportunity knocks

Walter P. Chrysler said, “The reason so many people never get anywhere in life is because when opportunity knocks, they are out in the backyard looking for four-leaf clovers.”

Are you ready to open the door when opportunity knocks?

Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

How can you be ready to open the door?

One way is to know what your vision is. Know what you are called to do.

That is what Diane Wigstones’s book “Dream Big – Start Small – Start Now” is all about.

Love never fails…

It’s Valentine’s day. The day that we celebrate LOVE. But, these days it seems so few people really know what love is.

It’ not a silly game. It is life. And if we want to win in life, the only way is to love well.

Let’s look to the source of love, for HIS definition of LOVE…

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. 

But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love.

Dream Big

dream bigThe seminar was starting in about thirty minutes. I was setting up my computer, and getting ready for the lecture portion of the class. One of the women registered as a student for the training came up to me.

“I want to write a book,” she said. “It has always been my dream.”

“Then you need to write your book,” I said. “You can do it.”

“But, I never have the time,” she said. “I have a job and a family. I never have time to get away and write my novel.”

“You don’t need to get away to write it,” I said. “You need to start on it now, where you are.”

“But, I would never have time,” she said.

“If you write one page a day, you’ll have 365 pages by this time next year,” I said. “That is plenty of pages for a book.”

“Wow,” she replied. “I never thought of it like that.”

“So, my assignment to you is this,” I said. “Write one page today. Start now. Today. You have a few minutes before we start the class. Go get some paper, and begin writing it now. Then, write some more during lunch, and during our dinner break. By the end of today, you should have one page.”

“It can’t be that simple,” she said.

“I have written over 50 books,” I replied. “It is just that simple. Start small, and start now.”

She did. By the end of the day she had a title, an outline, and three pages written for her book.

Dream Big: Write a book

Start Now: Immediately. Today. Now!

It is a new year. A new start. What will you do differently this year to move toward making your dream a reality?

SO, let me begin by asking you, “What is your dream?”

Your big dream.

What is it that you want to accomplish in your life? What is it that you care about? What is your passion? What do you want to do? Who do you want to be? What is your big dream? How can it ever be accomplished?
