Heart of God – Painting Series
I have spent much of this summer once again looking at the Vision that I have for my life, and asking God what it is that HE wants from me.
What God wants from me, is me. Plain and simple. He wants me to love Him.
We know we are to obey the commandments of God. So, like the man in the Bible, when we ask about what we should do, we should ask God, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
The Greatest Commandment – Mark 12:28-31 (NIV) 28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 “The most important one,”answered Jesus, “is this:
‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
30 Love the Lord your God
with all your heart and
with all your soul and
with all your mind and
with all your strength.’
31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Think about that for a moment. If we were only able to obey ONE commandment from God, what would He want us to obey?
Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind and with ALL your strength.
Why do we waste our time doing less?
I challenge you to join me in spending the rest of this summer focusing on loving God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
In every action, and every decision, ask yourself, “Is this the best way for me to love God?”
Everything I want most is found in the heart of God. Why do I ever look for it anywhere else?
