How can I know what I am called to do?” Remember, you are not alone. We are here to help. We’ve trained students on location for the last 40 years from over 100
countries. And now, you can take some of our great courses online!

School is OPEN!

We are excited to announce that our YWAM Hollywood Online School is up and running. Woohooo! 🙂 Our first few University of the Nations College Credit classes are now available to take online! You can take them anytime – anywhere! We are offering courses in three areas: Ministry Courses, Leadership Courses, and Creative Courses. It is wonderful to see a vision fulfilled – even if it is just the beginning!

As we mentioned earlier this year, we spent the summer setting up an online school and developing courses to help you be all you are created to be. We currently have 7 courses that have been approved for College Credit with the University of the Nations. We have plans to add many more classes over the next few years, and we have several teachers that are considering or developing courses.

Three of the University of the Nations courses are now available for you to enroll in to take online with YWAM Hollywood for College Credit.

It is so exciting that the online classes have now begun! Special Thanks to those who have been helping to make this a reality!

You’re a Superstar!

You are called to make a difference in the world.  We are clearly living in unprecedented times. Many people have had their lives changed in radical ways that they never would have dreamed possible. YWAM Hollywood has been praying, during these crazy times, about how we can help you to live the EPIC life that God created you to live.

We have started a new “Superstar Club” for our students to help them be all they are created to be. Every week we email all our students to Encourage, Prepare, Inspire, and Challenge them to live their EPIC life! And, each month we give them something free – a free training class, or a free ebook, or a free song, or a free photograph, or a free typography picture, or a free painting to check out, or a free music video, or a free podcast, or something else great…

Jesus said, “Go!”

Jesus said, “Go!”

It is called “The Great Commission.” Let’s read Matthew 28:18-20: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.”

It is hard to ‘go’ when you are forced to ‘stay home.’ The whole situation with the recent pandemic has shown us all just how quickly our ability to ‘GO’ can be stopped. It is an unusual time for missions, for sure. That’s why we have been focusing on how we can help people succeed – wherever they are! YWAM Hollywood has been praying, during these unprecedented times, about how we can help you to live the EPIC life that God created you to live.

We have come up with a few significant ways to help you fulfill your destiny no matter where you are. YWAM Hollywood has been working on being global and mobile for the last several years. Now we are taking it to another level for you!

New online YWAM Hollywood School to open this fall!

University of the Nations Online Training –  YWAM’s University of the Nations began allowing online courses to be approved for credit through UofN a few years ago and we felt that, this year, we needed to focus on implementing an online curriculum to be offered through YWAM Hollywood.

We are spending this summer setting up an online school and developing courses to help you be all you are created to be. We currently have 7 courses that have been approved for College Credit with the University of the Nations. We have plans to add many more classes over the next few years, and we have several teachers that are considering or developing courses.

Destiny Declarations

This morning I woke up late. I had slept at least one hour more than usual. Last night I stayed up late on the computer and needed the extra sleep. When I woke up, I was feeling a bit groggy, and slow. I still felt tired. I wanted to just roll back over and go back to sleep. I didn’t want to get out of bed at all.

But, it was trash day, and the garbage men would be coming soon. I might have already missed them. I groaned. I dragged myself out of bed, and went in and said ‘Good morning’ to my Mom. She asked if I was going to walk this morning like I usually do. I said, “I don’t think so, I am really tired this morning.”

I shuffled around the house in my slippers and gathered up all the trash in the house for the garbage men to pick up. I plopped down in the chair by the door to put on my tennis shoes. Then threw my coat on over my pajamas, and shuffled out to the curb, to take out the garbage. The sky was gray, and the wind was chilly. I pulled my coat closer around me. It was a cold, gray, windy winter day.

I came back in the house shivering. “I am cold and tired, and I don’t feel so great,” I announced. “It is so cold out! There is no way I am going to walk this morning. I don’t think I’ll even get out of my pajamas today! I don’t feel like doing anything today.”

Then I heard what I had just said, and I thought, “Wait a minute! That is not my destiny declaration for today. I am not going to be in agreement with that!” Immediately I announced, “No, actually, I slept great! I even slept in late. I am refreshed, I am energetic. Today is going to be a great day of doing fun things to fulfill my destiny. I am going to go change out of my pajamas and take a brisk walk in this great cool air.”

And, that’s what I did.

The choice was mine. I am the one who decides the perspective I will live my life through each day.

I could have been grumpy and irritable all day. I could have slouched around in my pajamas, complaining about being tired, and done nothing all day long. Or, I could choose to be energetic, healthy, get dressed, and do my destiny.

The choice is yours. Every morning. Every minute. Now.

Love never fails…

It’s Valentine’s day. The day that we celebrate LOVE. But, these days it seems so few people really know what love is.

It’ not a silly game. It is life. And if we want to win in life, the only way is to love well.

Let’s look to the source of love, for HIS definition of LOVE…

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. 

But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love.

Root issues…

Well, I found out what the brown spots were in our yard, that I have been mowing over all year. It is a particularly gnarly type of weed, with beautiful tiny purple flowers. They were brown all summer, and just started getting green leaves, and blooming the little flowers, now that we got some rain, and it’s a bit cooler.
Mom said there was a write up in the paper about them last weekend. She pointed them out to me yesterday, and taught me how to pull them out. You have to gather up all the little ‘branches’, and then twist the plant, as you pull it, to get the entire root out. Because, of course, if you don’t get the root out, it will just come back again.

Spiritual Freedom

 (Memorial Day was celebrated this past Monday, the last Monday in May, in the United States)

 
flag-958343_1920 copyMy mind turns to Memorial Day, because the older I get, the more I value those who have been willing to live less so that I could live more.
 
It has been said to me that Veterans Day celebrates the heroes who came home. Memorial Day celebrates the heroes who didn’t come home.
 
In essence, all these heroes took one thing and only one thing into battle, namely, a willingness to die for their country, coupled with the belief that earthly freedom was worth the price.In today’s Bible verse, Jesus sends out the disciples and basically tells them to take one thing and only one thing into their mission field, namely, a willingness to die for the kingdom of God, coupled with the belief that spiritual freedom was worth the price.

 

Do you see the parallels?

2bereavement-1239415_1920 copyYou could say that there’s at least an implicit charge here from Jesus to us, Jesus sends us out as disciples and basically tells us to take one thing and only one thing on our trip, namely, a willingness to die to self for the kingdom of God, coupled with the belief that spiritual freedom is worth the price. This dying to self will happen when we use time with family and friends to remember, speak of, and celebrate both those who have died for our freedoms and how those sacrifices have blessed our lives.

Many military personnel have died for our earthly freedoms. Many a missionary and Jesus Christ himself, most of all, died for our spiritual freedoms. Let us be found using our time to remember, speak of, and celebrate both those who have died for our freedoms and how those sacrifices have blessed our lives.

Peace for Your Problems

Philippians 4:6 & 7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” 

frightened-1172122_960_720It sure seems like an easy thing to worry. Everyday, problems come our way, and we have a choice. We can either decide to worry and be anxious, or we can turn everything over to God, knowing that He is in control.

Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 
When we are anxious and troubled, our minds become anxious and troubled & consumed with the problem or situation.

When we are consumed with the problem, we focus on all the negatives, not all the positives. Focusing on all the negatives causes us to have toxins released in our bodies that make us ill. We literally make ourselves sick by the constant focus on our problems and being anxious about the situation.
