Don’t Worry

Philippians 4:6 & 7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

frightened-1172122_960_720It sure seems like an easy thing to worry. Everyday, problems come our way, and we have a choice. We can either decide to worry and be anxious, or we can turn everything over to God, knowing that He is in control.

Philippians 4:6 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
When we are anxious and troubled, our minds become anxious and troubled & consumed with the problem or situation.

When we are consumed with the problem, we focus on all the negatives, not all the positives. Focusing on all the negatives causes us to have toxins released in our bodies that make us ill. We literally make ourselves sick by the constant focus on our problems and being anxious about the situation.

So, God gives us the answer…

God says, “Stop focusing on you & your problems.  prayer-401401_960_720

Start focusing on me.

Worship me.

Focus on the fact that you know I’ll take care of you.

Talk to me. Tell me what you want and need.

Then, thank me, for what you know about me. Thank me, that I am there with you. Thank me, for having the answers. Thank me, for what I am about to do for you. Thank me, for all the good things in your life.

Thank me, for being God.

And then, I’ll give you peace in place of your problems.”

Philippians 4:7 – And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Knowing who God really is brings us peace… Lasting peace… The kind of peace that doesn’t make sense. When everything is chaos & you are surrounded by peril and tragedy, turning to God & trusting that He will take care of you, brings a peace that is supernatural… the peace of God, which transcends all understanding!

Knowing who God really is brings us peace because we know that God is in control.

He is all powerful.

He created everything.

He is our provider.

He is our protector.

He is our healer.

He is our family.

He designed our purpose & our destiny.

He has all the answers.

He knows what needs to happen in every situation.

He is God!

And He loves you!

When you know those things about God, you can go to Him in prayer and find that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

worried-girl-413690_960_720Because our hearts need peace when they have been broken – through grief or loss, or because a loved one is in great need, or because someone we love hurt us.

God knows our situation.

And God knows that when we are anxious and troubled, our minds become anxious and troubled & consumed with the problem. He knows that when we focus on all the negatives, we literally make ourselves sick.

And God knows that He is the answer.

So, today – right now – stop focusing on you & your problems.

How? Do what God says,

“Focus on me & how you know I’ll take care of you. Talk to me. Tell me what you want and need. Thank me for what you know about me & for what I am about to do for you. And then, I’ll give you peace in place of your problems.”

Sounds like a great trade to me! Give Him my problems & He’ll give me His peace!
